Diligent's great start to the season came to an abrupt end at the
hands of Crowthorne this Sunday, with Crows running out 3-2 winners.
Crowthorne started the stronger of the two sides and took a deserved
lead on 15 minutes with a defensive error on Diligent's right gifting
Matt Smith an easy tap in from close range. Diligent struck back
when Sam Walters pace took him through on 23 minutes to drive in
the equaliser with his 4th goal of the season. Crows responded and
on 30 minutes a speculative low shot from Dale Clark from the edge
of the box saw the ball nestling in Diligent's net. Some feisty
tackling saw cautions on both sides before Joe Coleman was brought
down in the Crows area. Big Matt Sershall calmly stroked home the
equaliser from the spot, 2-2 half time. Diligent looked brighter
in the second period and began to dictate the pace of the game,
but were undone on the counter when Matt Smith broke away on 55
minutes to finish under pressure. Diligent pressed hard but could
not find a third equaliser.
Winkfield

as Jamie Docherty opened the scoring and found the game difficult
to get into after this shock start. Although the game stayed at

Twigg goal and paid the price as Gary Sergeant netted a hat trick
to finish the game 4-0 and re-take top spot in the division.

but despite the pressure placed upon the Hammers back line in the
2nd half, no further goals could be netted.

slotted the ball under the onrushing keeper. It didn’t take
long for Loddon to retake the lead as Bradbrook grabbed his 2nd
of the match as he latched onto a miscleared pass in the box to
