1st Division

Rides United went to town today and reaped the rewards of a blistering opening half hour against The Metropolitan. Kylo Atkinson netted twice in quick succession, once direct from a corner and the 2nd from a 30 yard lob, to give Rides a 2-0 lead. FC Fernhill faced off against 10 man Bracknell Galaxy and came away from the game with all 3 points and a 3-1 victory. Robert Musson, Sam Whiting and Matt Lindstrom all netted for Fernhill, with Steve Champion grabbing Galaxy’s solitary goal.

Royal Oak started brightly as Mark Saunders netted a 30 yard free kick after only 6 mins to take the lead against a depleted BMW side. Jamie Osbourne added to the goal tally after 18 mins leaving BMW with all the work to do. Rory McGill hit one back for BMW, but Andy Wells sealed the points for the home side late on leaving the final score at 3-1 to Royal Oak.

2nd Division

3M were leading their match against AC Woodcutters 3-2 with goals from Richard Downes, Chris Majors and a Martin Earl penalty. This was until about 60 minutes had passed and Woodcutters went on a rampage to win the game 9-3. Edward Watts (2), Dean Werret, Sean Watson, Jamie Ludbrook, James Coolas and man of the match Richard Docherty grabbed a hat trick to account for the goals. This keeps their 100% record going with 4 out of 4 wins and a top of the table placing.

Dukes Head made short work of Woodley Hammers Res and left with a 3-0 victory with goals coming from Gary Porter, Steve Gibson and Grant Pagdan.

The Old Manor took the lead against Ashridge Park as Billy Golding lobbed the keeper from range. For some reason, The Old Manor decided to roll over and let Ashridge take control as Jon Austin, Rob Cavendish and Adam Shoestick all netted twice each to win the game 6-1.

3rd Division

Loddon Valley Rangers just managed to fend off Finchamstead Ath Sun B as a late penalty proved decisive for the home side. Steve Nicholls (3) and Matthew Bradbrook netted for Loddon, with Ian Stephenson grabbing a hat trick for Finch.

4th Division

Steve Morris managed to level the scores leaving Dale Clark to net the winner in the closing moments of the match. Goalkeeper Richard Bull and centre mid Kevin Lee share the man of the match award for Crowthorne.

Bracknell Manics also move on to round 2 as they managed to overcome some strong pressure from Highfield Ibis and eventually leave with a 2-1 victory. With all of the goals coming in the last 20 minutes it was Zac Dimitrovski whom netted a brace to seal to win for Manics.

Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy – Round 1

Sygenta travelled to 116 Exiles and twice levelled the scores before a mistake led to the opposition winning the tie 3-2. Goals for Syngenta came from John Taylor and Anthony Harris.

In an all Bracknell tie, AFC Beechfleet faced up against Bracknell Manics Res. Graham McDonald opened the scoring for Manics in the 1st half leaving Andy Sweet to reply for Beechfleet. Brian Judge could have swayed the result in Manics favour, but unfortunately missed a spot kick which took the game into extra time. During this added period it was Beechfleet whom were awarded a spot kick and Michael Dellar duly converted to earn a 2-1 victory for the home side.

AFC Farmer advance through to round 2 after opponents Real Reading were reduced to 10 men early on in the game. This gave Gareth Evans the space he needed to grab 2 goals and see off the opponents 2-1 at the final whistle.

Atletico Reading were dumped out of the cup by Swinley Res as an Andrew Nealan goal was not enough to counter the 2-1 score line. Axfield also wave goodbye to the cup as Plough (Reading) won the game 3-1. Mike Yartel accounted for Axfield’s goal.

Calfridus Wanderers cruise through to round 2 as opponents Bantam could not keep the Bracknell side at bay. Tim Lynam (2), Dan Hobson and James Batty all netted to give Wanderers a well deserved 4-0 victory.

The Birch scraped together a side at the 11th hour and managed to take a 2-1 lead to the break against opponents Pak Rangers (2009). Richard Anscomb opened the scoring with an own goal accounting for the other Birch strike. Pak Rangers levelled the scores mid way through the 2nd half, but an extra push on gave the home side momentum to net twice more through Graham and Sam Jolley. Final score 4-2 to The Birch.

Winkfield Res made hard work off progressing to round 2 as BOTL (Bottom of the League) hit back at their 2-0 lead and levelled the score before time. No goals were netted during the extra period leaving Winkfield to progress via penalties with a score of 4-2. Martin Pring and Nick Mullet netted the goals for Winkfield during open play.

Bracknell Badgers exit the competition as they were defeated 2-1 by Hobnob with their only goal coming from Ray Merry.

FC Muchachos dominated the 1st half of play against opponents Forest View but could not take their chances in front of goal. This hampered the home side and they wre duly punished for this with a 3-1 defeat.

A special mention and thank you would like to go out to referee Kieron Brown as the side they marshalled this weekend praised their work during the game. This side was William Twigg Albion.
