Match reports for all divisions & cup matches on 20th September 09

Premier Division

Bracknell Cavaliers Old Boys took table toppers William Twigg Albion by surprise and ended the game by taking away all 3 points and a 3-1 victory. Dave Matthews, Rob Turner and Dan Lewendon netted the important goals for Cavaliers as Twigg are left to reflect on a woeful performance.

Two newly promoted sides FC Diligent and Woodley Hammers met today, and it was Hammers whom took a lead to the break with Neal Robinson (2) cancelling out Liam Panesar’s strike. The 2nd half proved fruitful for Diligent as within a 10 minute spell the score had changed to 4-2 in their favour with goals from Luke Lee, Sam Waters and Joe Coleman. Richard Bland completed the scoring for Diligent as the home side rounded off a score line of 5-2.

Wokingham United were outdone by 10 man Finchampstead Athletic 2-0 as Ben Rice and Luke Axton-Hall hit the net for the travelling side.

1st Division

Bracknell Galaxy and Keephatch Park looked certain for a 1-1 draw as goals from Liam Davies for Keephatch and an own goal for Galaxy took the game to the final 5 minutes. This happened to be when both teams stepped up a gear and went hell for leather leaving Adam Lawson to net for Keephatch, only for a 2nd own goal to again level the scores for Galaxy. With the final whistle looming, Keephatch were awarded a penalty, upon which Liam Davies struck the net for his 2nd goal of the game and a 3-2 win.

Bracknell Royals came out on top in their encounter with Finchampstead Athletic Res 4-3. Jamie Grainger, John Mulholland and Steve Lancaster (2) netted for Royals, while Rob Dangerfield, Matt Barclay and James Fowler replied for Finch.

FC Fernhill were left on the back foot in the 1st half against BMW as the away side shot into a 3-1 lead before the break with goals from Matt Ayres, Nathan Lightbody and Rory McGill of BMW and Steve Tranter of Fernhill. Fernhill upped the pace in the 2nd half and made use of BMW suffering a loss of a man to injury for the final half hour. This allowed Ben Knight and Matt Lindstrom to draw the game level at 3-3 when the whistle blew.

Royal Oak were put on the back foot as a goal a half for Rides United from Sean King was enough to see the visitors win the fixture 2-0. The highlight of the game was the 2nd goal from King as he lobbed the Oak keeper from 30 yards.

The Metropolitan were slowed down this week as Winkfield Sports managed to get the better of their opponents with a 3-2 score line. Mark Brown, Matt Davis and Callum Whitty all scored for Winkfield.

2nd Division

Ashridge Park took all 3 points from Woodley Hammers Res as the home side won the game 3-2 with goals from Scott Smith and Jon Austin (2). Hammers goals came from David Townsend.

Dukes Head took a 1-0 lead in the 1st half through Stevens as they had AC woodcutters on the back foot. It was the visitors though who stepped up their game in the 2nd half and cruised to a 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Jamie Ludbrok and a stunning 18 yard volley from Robert Prince.

FC A1 Group had to come from a goal down to defeat The Bridge 4-1. Paul Collins put The Bridge a goal up before Tom Williams (3) and Steve Bland replied for A1.

The Old Manor were stunned early on as AFC Dukes rushed into a 2-0 lead in the opening 5 minutes with strikes from Scott Riddlesworth and Andy Fraser. The Manor managed to pull the scores level by the break as an Ian Birch free kick and a Paul Brady header accounted for the goals. Ben Medford struck the winner for The Old Manor as the home side won the game 3-2 with a man of the match performance from Connor Elliot Walker.

Wokingham Wanderers looked to be on the end of a 3-1 defeat to 3M as Joe Atkinson hit a hat trick for the away team to offset Chris Atkins opener. This was until the final 5 minutes where Chris Hillsdon and Steve Campbell rescued a point for Wanderers by pulling the scores level at 3-3 before the whistle.

3rd Division

Bracknell Manics Res started brightly against FC Muchachos de Bracknell and were rewarded with a 2-0 lead as Colin Pike hit both goals. They didn’t make use of all their chances though and took a 2-0 lead to the break. Muchachos came out fighting in the 2nd half and debutant Nick Brain reduced the scores by running the ball from his own half to net a superb solo goal. Unfortunately for the away side they could not find an equaliser and the game finished 2-1 to the Manics.

Calfridus Wanderers ran riot and made short work of The Birch whom had a bad day at the office by piling on a 5-0 victory. Tim Lynam, Mike Darby, Martin Hinks, Dan Hobson and James Batty all hit the net, and if not for Birch goalkeeper Steve Bruce, the score would have been higher.

Loddon Valley Rangers faced off against table toppers Inter and it was the high fliers whom made it 3 wins in 3 as they took the game 2-1. Steven Nicholls netted for Loddon with Tommy Evans getting both for Inter.

Syngenta had their hands full as AFC Beechfleet put them to the sword in a 6-1 scoreline. Shane Ogle netted for Syngenta from the spot, with Andy Sweet (2), David Clifford (2), Daniel Thomas and Paul Dellar all on strike for Beechfleet.

Warfield United were outdone this week by a much more solid performance from Finchampstead Athletic B 4-3. Richard Webb (2) and Richie Cohen scored for Warfield, whilst Dave Orly, Darren Scott (2) and a Nathan Beer free kick all scored for Finch.

Winkfield Res put in a solid 2nd half performance to defeat Victoria Arms 6-2. Kwarme Appiah and Matt Bedford netted for Victoria, whilst Nick Mullett and Adam Chance made it 2-2 at the break. Mark Campbell scored from the spot and a hat trick from Dean Coupland was enough to take all 3 points at the whiatle.

4th Division

AFC Farmer put Ashridge Park Res though their paces as they left the game with all 3 points and a 5-1 victory. Scott Taylor, James Hillsdon, Dan Walker and Gareth Evans (2) all netted for Farmer, with Laurie White grabbing Ashridge’s solo goal.

Axfield couldn’t get anything from their game against Bracknell Badgers as the visitors left with a 3-1 win. Sam Yartel netted Axfield’s goal.

Bagshot Road Res raced into a 4-1 lead against Dukes Head Res with goals from Colin Hutchins, Alan Matthias and Chris Willis (2). This lead did not last in the 2nd half though as Dukes fought back to earn a point in a 4-4 draw with goals from Paul Long (2), Gary Bale and a stunning strike from Carl Wyatt.

New boys Bracknell Rovers were out played in their match against Red Star and were treated o a 6-2 defeat. Chris Regan and Craig Lawson netted for Rovers whilst the Red Star goals came from Dean Goshab, Peter Socolovsky, Olal Fedian, Lucas Freek, Chris Blow and an own goal.

Rides United Res and FC Rapids netted a goal a piece to play out 1-1 draw in their game today.

A special mention and thank you would like to go out to referees Dave Calvert, Mick White and Stephen Parkinson as the sides they marshalled this weekend praised their work during the game. These sides were Woodley Hammers, Rides United Res and FC Rapids respectively.
