Athletico
Priestwood showed a depleted Bracknell Cavaliers Old Boys what life
in the premier is all about by subjecting them to a 10-2 defeat.
Craig Millward, Jimmy Craske, Mike Gooch (2) and Shane Levey (6)
netted the goals for Priestwood, with James Rodgers scoring a brace
for the away side.
Bracknell
Manics were bombarded from early on by the William Twigg Albion
attack and were soon 2-0 down. They did mange to pull a goal back
as a Twigg own goal reduced the deficit before half time. Twigg
again started strong from the kick off and shot into a 4-1 lead
before 2 late goals from Zac Dimitrovski and Stefan Stratov for
Manics set up a tense few closing minutes, but the score stayed
in Twiggs favour and ended 4-3.
Winkfield
and Finchampstead Athletic battled throughout their match and there
was little to separate the sides, apart from one defensive mistake,
allowing Luke Thorn to capitalise and take maximum points for Winkfield
at 1-0. Premier League new boys FC Diligent continue to make their
mark in the top division as they held last seasons runners-up to
a 1-1 draw at Cantley Park. The opening exchanges belonged to the
Wokingham side as Steve Selby and Ian Needham bossed the midfield,
however Diligent began to play themselves into the game and in the
22nd minute excellent work from Luke Lee on his Diligent debut saw
him set up Sam Walters who lashed a left foot screamer past Pratt
in the Wokingham goal. Wokingham continued to press forward but
on the few occassions they breached the hard working Diligent defence
they found keeper Jason Farrimond in outstanding form. The second
half followed a similar pattern, although Diligent always looked
dangerous on the break and Panesar went close with a header late
on that would have sealed it for the new boys. It took a slightly
dubious penalty award in the 4th minute of stoppage time for Wokingham
to draw level as Grant Lewin converted, although a draw was a fair
result for both sides following such an excellent and competitive
encounter.
Woodley
Hammers and Crowthorne also played out a score draw with their match
ending 2-2. Crowthorne took the lead via Dale Clarke as Paul Bowles
slotted through a clinical pass for the striker to finish. Hammers
reversed the score line though to 2-1 as Sam Cialis and Neal Robinson
netted before the break. Dale Clarke grabbed his second of the match
to level the score and with chances going begging Crowthorne could
have won the fixture, but this was not to be.

Division
BMW
lost two of their key players early in their match with Bracknell
Royals but the home side did not look like losing at any point with
the final score ending 4-3. Rory McGill (2) and Nathan Lightbody
(2) scored for BMW with Lee Westlake, Andrew Moore and Jamie Garner
netting for Royals.
FC
Fernhill lost out 2-1 to opponents Royal Oak as Andy Wells and Liam
Day made sure of the 3 points with both players heading goals for
the visitors. Ben Knight grabbed the solitary goal for Fernhill
with Oak having a further 2 strikes disallowed.
FC
Priestwood seemed to steal the game from under the noses of Finchampstead
Athletic Res as the away side seemed to dominate possession throughout
the match. It is goals that count though and Bernie McDonagh netted
a brace to see the home side win the game 2-1 with Michael Starnes
grabbing the Finch goal.
Keephatch
Park were undone by two late goals from opponents The Metropolitan
as the visitors clinched the game 3-1. Steve Burshull scored for
Keephatch, but Carl Moran (2) and Liam Want won the game for the
Met.
Rides
United managed to see off Winkfield Sports 3-2 in the 89th minute
as a 2nd spot kick for Rides clinched the game as Sean King converted
from the spot. King also scored the other penalty with Mohamed Zagbani
scoring the other for the home team.
2nd
Division
3M
were outshone by FC A1 Group as the league new boys smashed 6 past
the hosts to win the game 6-2. Rich Downes and Tony Robinson netted
for 3M, but this was not enough as Lawrence Woolley, Sam Stroud
and Tom Williams (4) sealed the game for A1.
AC
Woodcutters saw off the advances of a depleted Old Manor side and
won the game 5-1. Woodcutters took an early lead, leaving Billy
Golding to level the score from the spot for The Old Manor. Woodcutters
pelted the Manor goal late on and were rewarded with four further
goals without reply to take all 3 points.
AFC
Dukes narrowly lost out to The Bridge as a well fought game ended
2-1 to the visitors with Stuart Charwood and Craig Hasler netting
the winning goals.
Ashridge
Park took the lead against Dukes Head as Jon Austin scored a solo
effort goal for the home side. Dukes Head managed to get back into
the game though as Grant Pagdan and a Martin Stevens spot kick was
enough to win the game 2-1.
Wokingham
Wanderers and Finchampstead Athletic A fought out a keenly contested
match with the away side just pipping wanderers to all 3 points
with a 4-3 win. Neil Harrison gave Finch the lead, but Tom Soane
and an Anthony Prior spot kick reversed the score to 2-1 before
the half. Dan McCarthy netted a brace early in the 2nd half to give
Finch the lead but Luke Ryall equalised late on with the game looking
to be a draw. Gary Bell had other ideas though and scored the winner
for Finch in the closing moments of the match. Bet wishes go to
the Finch player taken to hospital via ambulance, as the game was
delayed whilst treatment was sought.
3rd
Division
Inter
FC went to town today as Finchampstead Athletic B seemed to collapse
after their centre back was sent off early in the game, which led
to a host of chances and a 14-2 score line. Tom Hobbs (3), Graham
Pert (3), David Bird (2), Matthew Field (2), Wayne Sandy, Matthew
Harrington, Steve Maher and Richard Beckett all got on the score
sheet for Inter, with Mark Napier and Darren Scott scoring for Finch.
Loddon Valley Rangers could not convert a late spot kick to level
the game against Winkfield Res, leaving the visitors with all 3
points and a 2-1 win. Steven Nicholls netted for Loddon, but Mark
Campbell scored for Winkfield. Both teams wish Andy Harden a speedy
recovery as he was carted off to hospital with a head injury. Early
reports look to be that Andy is ok.
Syngenta
have several chances to score against opponents Calfridus Wanderers,
but the post and a goalkeeper kept the home side at bay for long
periods of the game. This aided Calfridus as they went on to net
twice at the other end through Mike Darby and an Alex Croxford 20
yard curling effort which ended up in the top corner to win the
game 2-0.
The
Birch started slowly against AFC Beechfleet and were punished early
on as they went 3-0 down to goals from Liam Sherry, Daniel Thomas
and Andy Sweet. It wasn’t until just before half time that
The Birch started playing and they managed to pull back a goal through
a Jamie Austin headed effort. The Birch then looked to control the
game from the kick off and Jamie Davis slotted the ball into the
net from a Richard Anscomb pass the reduce the score to 3-2. Danny
Jones then struck goal bound shortly afterward and with the aide
of a massive deflection managed to level the scores at 3-3. The
Birch had the ball in the Beechfleet net once more but this was
ruled out for offside, leaving the final score standing at 3-3.
Victoria
Arms were put under some early pressure form Bracknell Manics Res
and fell 1-0 down as
Craig Parsons made sure from close range. Kwarme Appiah and an own
goal reversed the score line though, keaving Victoria leading before
the break. Manics started brightly again after kick off and Craig
Parsons netted his second to draw the game level at 2-2. Manics
had plenty of shots on target, but goalkeeper Matt Cook and reserve
keeper Sean Aimes kept these efforts out of the net. Final score
2-2.
Warfield
United capitalised on a Queens Head side whom as of yet are unable
to gel as team with their new signings. This gave the home side
freedom of play and a 4-2 win as man of the match Richie Cohen grabbed
all four goals for Warfield. Dave Pye and Owen Thomas netted for
Queens Head. Special mention goes to Adam Bicknell in his first
start for Warfield at centre back for having a solid game.
4th
Division
Bracknell
Badgers edge out Axfield 3-1 as the home side took advantage. Jamie
O’Donnell (2) and Ray Merry netted for Badgers with Sam Yartel
scoring for Axfield.
Bracknell
Rovers scored twice through Phil Regan and Ollie Rawling, but this
was not enough to see off Ashridge Park Res as the visitors won
the game 3-2 with efforts from Jack Grey, Lorrie White and Ryan
Millward.
Dukes
Head Res made short work of AFC Farmer as the home side left the
game with a 5-0 win and goals from Paul Carson-Long (3) and George
Hobden (2). Farmer seemed to fall apart or even asleep in the second
half of their game as this is the point when Dukes Head ran riot.
FC
Goose were treated to a battering from table toppers Bagshot Road
Res with a score line of 8-0. Wayne Harrison, Gary Thomas, Chris
Willis, Neil Gandolfi, Lee Barefoot (pk) and Colin Hutchins (3)
all netted for the visitors.
FC
Rapids and Atletico Reading couldn’t be separated in their
match as the game ended 2-2. Goals came from Mike Matthews and Mark
Weldon for Rapids and Jamie France (2) for Atletico.
Red
Star were put to the sword as Rides United Res won the game comfortably
2-0 with strikes from John Downes and Dan Morrison.
A special mention
and thank you would like to go out to referees Jim Quinton, Robert
Fenton and Robert Wellington as the sides they marshalled this weekend
praised their work during the game. These sides were William Twigg
Albion, Warfield Utd and Ashridge Park Res respectively.
