Premier
Division
William
Twigg Albion consolidated their dominance of this years Premier
division by winning 9-0 against Bagshot Road in their final game
of the season. In a very good and sporting game, Twigg came out
on top thanks to goals coming from Mick Havermans (4), Jamie Docherty
(2), Gary Sergeant, Joel Havermans and Mark Murphy.
Bracknell
Manics and Green Man battled hard for the final points available,
but neither team could take full points at the whistle. Simon Blay
scored a brace to put Manics 2-0 up at the break, the 2nd of which
was a stunning 35yd volley. Green Man managed to peg the Manics
back to 2-2 as Matthew Williams came out of goal for the 2nd half
and struck twice to earn a draw. Green Man sadly will not be entering
the league in 09/10, so congratulations go to Scott Rodgers for
running the team successfully during their 9 year spell in the sunday
league.
Suffering
from cup winners mentality, Winkfield didn’t perform in this
last game of the season against Wokingham United and gave the visitors
a chance of grabbing runners up after a 6-1 score line. Craig Levey
scored for Winkfield, but Pat Selby (4), Steve Selby and Ian Needon
made sure of the 3 points for Wokingham.
1st
Division
Keltar
Old Boys could not stop Woodley Hammers from dominating the game
and ultimately securing top spot in division 1 after a 4-0 score
line. Hammers maintained a solid defence to keep out any chance
that Keltar were presented with, and strikers Neal Robinson (3)
and Rob Timbers scored to gain the club some silverware.
Rides
Utd kept the division runners up FC Diligent at bay and earned a
well deserved 1-1 draw. Adam Hitchin gave Rides the lead during
the 1st half, only for Diligent to reply in the 2nd half and press
for the winner. This however did not come and the game ended 1-1.
Winkfield
Sports scored early on through Mark Brown but then decided to switch
off as opponents Finchampstead Ath Res came back and won the game
4-1. Goals for Finch came from James Coxall (2) and Kieron Best
(2).
3rd
Division
Cable
& Wireless attempted to end the hopes of Royal Oak’s title
challenge today, but this didn’t happen as Oak won the game
5-2 after a lot of one way traffic led to several chances. Craig
Murphy and Steve Heard scored for Cable, with Richard Massingham
(3) and Andy Wells (2) making sure that Royal Oak have every chance
of gaining top spot from Keephatch Park in their head to head game
next week.
FC
Muchachos were frustrated during their game against Finchampstead
Ath Sun B as they felt several decisions went against them and the
run of play. Finch though got on with the game and scored a goal
a half to win the game 2-0. Phil Hemmings grabbed both goals for
Finch.
The
Bridge fought out a good result against Bracknell Manics Res but
are resigned to finishing 3rd in the league following Royal Oaks
win. Manics had nothing to play for and a missing goalkeeper, but
The Bridge showed no mercy by beating them 6-1. David Brown (2),
Jamie Tucker (2), Anthony Waistell and Paul Collins all netted for
Bridge with Colin Pike wanted it more for Manics with a stunning
35 yard free kick.
4th
Division
Warfield
Utd put on a phenomenal performance to out gun Bracknell Badgers
12-0. Andrew Pratt, Alex Mellor, Richie Cohen, Nick Shears, Jack
Tickner (3) and man of the match Richard Webb (5) all scored during
play.
