Premier Division

Athletico Priestwood return to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Bracknell Royals. Goal scorers for Priestwood were Lee Teevan, Andy Reason and Shane Levey.

Winkfield took the lead against table toppers William Twigg with a goal by Sam Handley. This lead did not last for long though as the Twigg began to take shape and finish their opportunities. Gary Sergeant netted 4 goals to put the Twigg into a 4-1 lead at the break. Danny Oliphant finished the scoring for Twigg on the day by extending the lead to 5-1 which is how the game ended. Winkfield were admittedly outclassed by the better side on the day.

Wokingham United took an early lead as Grant Lewin fired home a spot kick against opponents Green Man. This lead was further extended before the interval as Lee Compton fired a bullet like shot from 30 yards into the back of the Green Man net leaving the keeper with no hope of getting to the ball. Sub James Rodgers pulled a goal back for Green Man in the 2nd half but the visitors just could not finish the opportunities that they created, leaving the final score at 2-1 to Wokingham.

1st Division

FC Diligent and Woodley Hammers gave each other a battle for the points on offer as this closely contested game went to the wire. Diligent enjoyed long spells of possession, but Hammers made more chances on goal when the opportunity arose. A couple of defensive errors saw Diligent take a 2-0 lead through Ryan Brigg and Dave Richards leaving Hammers on the back foot. Woodley were awarded a penalty, this spot kick was saved but Neil Robinson netted the rebound to leave the final score at 2-1 to Diligent.

Sunninghill Athletic and Wokingham Wanderers contested a fairly even game, but it was Sunninghill that netted the all-important goals in the 2nd half to clinch the points on offer. Adam Knibbs and Tony May scored the goals to give Sunninghill a 2-0 win. The Metropolitan and Rides United cancelled each other out and had to settle for a point a piece as their game ended 0-0.

2nd Division

Bracknell Galaxy faced 3M today and started well, taking the lead just before the half with a Kelvin May goal. Daniel Howard doubled the Galaxy lead after the break, but soon 3M were awarded a penalty. This spot kick was converted by Martin Earl, but instead of gaining momentum from the goal, 3M conceded almost straight from the kick off as Jason Parsons put Galaxy 3-1 up. Ben Appleby netted for 3M to close the gap, but this was too little too late as the game ended 3-2.

FC Fernhill and Prince played out an evenly matched 1st half, leaving the score at 0-0 at the interval. However, Prince lost a player during the break and FC Fernhill clearly took advantage by winning the 2nd half and the game 9-0. Rob Musson (2), Jamie Osbourne (2), Dan Willis (2), Sam Whiting, Craig Masey and Adam Emptage all netted for Fernhill with Dan Willis being awarded the man of the match title.

Finchampstead Ath Sun A were left in the shade in the 1st half against The Old Manor as the visitors took a 3-0 lead. Jamie Penfold opened the scoring with Paul Brady netting a brace, the 2nd of which came from a defence splitting pass from full back and manager Clive Presta. Jamie Scott extended the lead to 4 in the 2nd half, with Michael Hughes netting a consolation for Finch. Final Score 4-1 to The Old Manor with Will Randall grabbing man of the match for Manor.

3rd Division

Finchampstead Ath Sun B gave Keephatch Park a run for their money, but ultimately could not stop the visitors from grabbing all 3 points. Steve Burshill and Andy Cook netted for Keephatch with Stuart Clarke scoring a delightful lob for Finch. The sides took different views of the game but the final score ended 2-1 to Keephatch.

Syngenta looked to start brightly against Winkfield Res but soon found themselves 2-0 down thanks to goals from Mark Campbell (2). Nick Tirebuck pulled a goal back for Syngenta with an 18 yard volley, but Winkfield netted twice more before the break with goals from Chris Hill and James McDogall. Stuart Prendergast and Martin Pring further extended the lead in the 2nd period, leaving Ronan Malacan to save face for Syngenta by netting toward the end of the game. The result could have been different ha the woodwork not kept Syngenta at bay on several occasions, but the result ended 6-2 to Winkfield.

4th Division

Atletico Reading and William Twigg Res played their game without an appointed referee but both teams had to make the most of the situation. Twigg grabbed the opportunities when they came and take top spot in the table thanks to a 3-2 victory. Billy Docherty, Billy Morten and Paul Cousins all netted for the Twigg, with Nick Bone and Matthew Burns replying for Atletico.

Loddon Valley Rangers made short work of Axfield as the home side won the game comfortably 5-0. Goals came from Jack Bradbrook, Jake Wheeler (2), Matthew Jennings and Joe Hill.

Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy 5th Round

With only 2 Bracknell teams left in the county competition it was inevitable that they would face each other at some stage. AFC Beechfleet from the 4th div faced Royal Oak from the 3rd. The game quickly swung in Royal Oaks favour as on 8 minutes Rob Wilcock slotted home from a goalkeeping error. This lead was extended 2 minutes later with Jack Brent netting from 30 yards leaving the keeper with little chance of getting to he ball. David Clifford gave Beechfleet a lifeline before the break as he halved the deficit for the home side. Michael Dellar levelled the score at 2-2 early in the 2nd half, and from that point either team could have won the tie. Royal Oak caught the Beechfleet keeper by surprise as Mark Saunders shot from the half way line to regain a lead at 3-2. Rob Wilcock then made sure of the game as he netted his 2nd of the match from a Tom Hobbs cross to give a 4-2 victory to the visitors. Royal Oak advance to the last 8 in the competition and face Warwick Arms of Reading at home on the 15th. Good luck to the final Bracknell side in the cup!
