Priestwood kicked off their season against last weeks high scorers
Bagshot Road. It was a close affair with Bagshot nicking the game
2-1 having played some decent football out on the park. Dan Chambers
and Dan Lewendon got the all important goals for Bagshot, whilst
Carl Withers got the reply for Priestwood in their bad day at the
office.
Emmbrook
Inn couldn’t repeat the goalscoring and comeback feat of their
opening game as they went down to Finchampstead Athletic 3-0. Emmbrook
played a good game but could not capitalise on any chances. Luke
Axton-Hall (2) and Harry Swabey netting the goals. Premier new boys
Winkfield took advantage of their chances to put last seasons runners
up Green Man to the sword. In what was an excellent game all round,
the scores were level at 1-1 going into the break With Tom Maguire
scoring for Green Man and Dan Walker for Winkfield. Lee Nevard and
Dan Sleet grabbed the all decisive strikes for Winkfield to see
them take all 3 points with a 3-1 win.
Wokingham
United felt unlucky to have lost their fixture this week to the
hands of William Twigg, but Luke Carswell ensured that the Twigg
took all 3 points in his encounter.
Crowthorne
(the prince) played host Bracknell Manics this week and it was the
Manics whom seemed to be struggling from the play as they lost 2
key players in the first half although keeping the scores level
at the break at 1-1. Into the 2nd and Manics were yet again struck
by injury as they went down to 10 men for the last 30 mins of the
match. This did not deter them from overcoming the visitors at the
final whistle with a score line of 3-2. Kalin Krumov and Gary Farmer
scoring for Manics whilst Stuart Keen replied with a brace for Crowthorne.
1st
Division
FC Diligent started their season with a bang against Keltar Old
Boys after having been promoted to this division direct from the
4th. The home took advantage of the play and scored 3 times with
no reply from Keltar to take all 3 points in a 3-0 win. Jack Bill
Algare, Matt Davis and man of the match Jack Steadman all netted
for the winners.
FC
Priestwood showed no mercy to a young group of Finchampstead Res
players whom are coming up through the ranks as they ran out 4-1
winners. Gareth Brant bagged a hat trick with Colin Brewster scoring
the 4th.
Either
FC Wokingham or Winkfield Sports could have nicked the game in which
they played today as the entire game was end to end and very tight.
It was however FC Wokingham whom came out on top this time with
a 4-3 win having Mo Zagbani (3) and Barry Agar netting for them.
Mark Brown, Adam Sharp and Chris Livingstone replied for Winkfield
Sports.
Rides
United could not do anything to deter a very strong Woodley Hammers
side from taking all 3 points in this match. Woodley scored through
James Spalding, Rob Timbers and Neal Robinson as they came away
with a 3-0 win.
Sunninghill
Athletic found themselves 1-0 down early on in their fixture against
The Metropolitan as they conceded an own goal to put themselves
under some pressure. Into the 2nd half and Sunninghill were awarded
a penalty which was duly converted by Pas Uko to tie things up at
1-1 which is where the score stayed.
Wokingham
Wanderers were missing a few players and felt the pinch as they
were shot down 6-2 by a strong Sandhurst Social side. Tom Soane
remains prolific in front of goal as he fired both goals for the
home side. .
2nd
Division
AFC Dukes and 3M fought out a very even match in which the result
could have gone either way. 3M took the opening goal as Bill Bailey
scored before the half to take advantage. AFC Dukes did fight back
and were rewarded with 2 goals from Andy Fraser, of which 1 was
a penalty, to bring themselves back into the game. Martin Ell levelled
the scores as 3M took a lot of the possession in the 2nd half and
pressed the Dukes back line. John Edney netted in the 85th minute
to steal all 3 points for 3M with a 3-2 score line.
BMW
and Bracknell Galaxy both kicked off their season as they battled
each other for the points on offer. Galaxy took the lead as Steve
Champion opening the scoring, only for BMW to reply before the half
via Ashley Webb. With a share of the spoils in the 2nd half also,
Paul Sharman netted for BMW and Kelvin May for Galaxy to take the
final score to 2-2.
FC
Fernhill conceded a goal in the opening minutes to a Gary Porter
penalty for Dukes Head. This however spurred the home side on as
they cruised through the game and came out on top with a score of
7-3. Mark Triggers and Lee Thomas netted the others for Dukes Head,
whilst Sam Whiting (3), Robert Musson, Jamie Osbourne, Ben Knight
and Adam Emptage all scored for Fernhill.
In
what was a very one sided game, Prince felt the full force of Ashridge
Park and were struck down with a 13-0 defeat.
Woodley
Hammers Res had to come from behind against The Old Manor as the
visitors were handed a penalty early on in the match, upon which
Nick Smith converted. Woodley levelled things up by the break as
Joe Ward got himself on the score sheet. The 2nd half was a different
affair and all the spoils go to Adam Richardson as he netted a hat
trick for Woodley to take the final score to 4-1.
3rd
Division
Bracknell
Manics Res started strongly against Winkfield Res and had 3 good
efforts on goal early on. Ith these efforts being spurned though,
Manics heads dropped and allowed Winkfield to play through and score
4 goals before the half. The 2nd half was shared as both teams netted
twice each giving a final score of 6-2 to Winkfield. Both Prendecarp
and Delaney netted hat tricks for Winkfield, whilst Graham McDonald
got a brace for Manics.
FC
Muchachos took the lead through John Sills as they had Cable &
Wireless on the back foot. Andrew King levelled the score after
a short time, only for Cable to concede a penalty. Danny Russell
took the penalty for Muchachos, the keeper parried the spot kick
only for the re-bound to fall at the feet of the taker whom struck
the net with this 2nd opportunity. Cable came back into the game
and were rewarded at full time having scored twice through Craig
Murphy and Richard Chamberlain to take all 3 points in this 3-2
win.
Inter
took full advantage of their new signing Steve Munday as he bagged
4 goals in his debut to help see off a much hassled Syngenta side
9-1. John Taylor scored Syngentas solitary goal with Wayne Tandy
(3), David Bird and Matt Harrington adding to the Inter goal tally.
It could have been more had the Syngenta keeper not had a good game.
Keephatch
Park scored 4 times in the first half to see off the The Bridge
advances and kill off any chance of a comeback. Keephatch netted
a further goal in the 2nd with the Bridge grabbing 2 of their own
through Jamie Tucker and Anthony Waistell in this game which ended
5-2. Steve Birchill, Chris Lidwood, Liam Davies and Adam Lawton
(2) all scoring for Keephatch with Copperwater being named man of
the match.
Leaders
shook off the struggles to their new season to bounce back into
the league against opponents Queens Head. Having taken the lead
3 times, Leaders could not hold off the advances of Queens Head
as the points were shared in this 3-3 draw. Nick Bright (2) and
Tom Hobbs scored for Leaders, with Chris Newlove netting a hat trick
for Queens Head.
The
Victoria Arms got the better of visitors Finchampstead Ath B as
they ran home 2-0 victors with Kwarme Appiah and Steven Wills getting
the goals.
4th Division
AFC
Farmer could not see off the advances of AFC Beechfleet as the visitors
made it 2 wins in 2 with a 3-1 win. Jack Clark scored for the Farmer,
whilst Liam Sherry, Ross Bernon and Sean Dellar all netted for AFC
Beechfleet.
Bagshot
Road Res had a good start to the match as they pressed the back
line of opponents The Birch constantly for the opening 20 minutes.
The home side were rewarded with a goal as Dave Simmons latched
onto a defensive error to neatly slot the ball into the net. The
Birch responded well as Danny Jones whipped a corner into the box,
only for a Bagshot defender to turn the ball into his own net to
level the scores before the half. Into the 2nd half and The Birch
started the brighter scoring 3 quick goals before Bagshot could
switch on. Danny Jones netted a brace as he sidefooted past the
keeper for the first and took advantage of a quick free kick to
sail the ball high into he top corner of the net leaving the keeper
standing. Jamie Austin grabbed the other as he neatly placed the
ball low into the net for a 4-1 lead. Bagshot kicked up a gear and
started pressing the Birch back line once more only for the majority
of the chances to be saved by the in form keeper Steven Bruce. Bagshot
latched onto a misplaced back pass from the Birch midfield and scored
through Sam Willis to liven things up. No less than a minute later
Willis struck again to put the pressure into the game with only
1 minute remaining. The Birch held their nerve and held on for a
4-3 win.
Bracknell
Badgers have re grouped this season and started well, this week
seeing off Loddon Valley Rangers 3-2. Jamie O’Donnell, Andy
Gregory and Keeno all on the score sheet for Badgers, with Duncan
Campwell netting both for the visitors.
FC
A1 Group take an early lead in the 4th division table as they struck
down Athletico Reading 6-2 Michael Pike, Alex Carey, Paul Hicks
and Adam Cornell (3) bagged the all important goals for the home
side, with Mark Sturgis and Mark Timpson on target for Reading.
Warfield
United could not stop Red Star from getting 2 wins in 2 as the visitors
yet again triuphied with a 3-2 score line. James Knight and Alex
Mellor netted for Warfield, with Peter Socolovski (2) and Chris
Blu getting the winning goals for Red Star. Both teams commented
on the referees fine performance.
William
Twigg Res found 2nd gear this week with a commanding perfomance
by destroying visitors Rides United Res 16-1. Lee Brown (4), Jack
Davis (3), Billy Morten (3), John Mulholland (3), Danny Green, Daniel
Barnes and Darryl Baker all found the net for Twigg as the one touch
passing out classed the visitors as the score line suggests.
